About NC Local Events

A homeschool-centered event organizer creating proms, homecomings, and family dances across North Carolina since 2022, built on Christian, family-first values.

Who is NC Local Events?

NC Local Events is a homeschool-centered event organizer in North Carolina. We create the milestone nights that homeschool students might otherwise miss: a formal prom each spring, a homecoming each fall, and family dances like our father-daughter Snow Ball, all in a positive, faith-aligned environment that parents trust.

NC Local Events LLC is an independent organizer. We are not a school, a church, or an event venue, and we are not connected to other companies that share a similar name. We have run homeschool dances since 2022, and our events regularly sell more than 200 tickets, with several selling out smaller venues and moving to larger ones to fit everyone.

Our story

How NC Local Events started

NC Local Events began in 2022, when a group of North Carolina homeschool families decided their students should not have to miss out on prom and homecoming. Homeschoolers do not have one school to throw these dances, so the families built one themselves: renting a venue, setting a dress code, lining up chaperones, and putting on a real formal night.

Our first event was Enchanted Forest Homecoming, back in 2022, and our A Starry Night prom drew more than 150 students and sold out. Word spread from there. What started as one dance for a few families has grown into a full calendar of proms, homecomings, and family dances across the Triad and the Triangle. We have kept the same goal the whole way: give homeschool students the big milestone memory in an environment their parents do not have to worry about.

The events we host

NC Local Events runs several kinds of homeschool dances through the year. Our two main events are a formal homeschool prom each spring and a homeschool homecoming each fall. We also host family-friendly events like our father-daughter dance, and we have put on barn dances and other one-off events over the years.

You can read about each one on its own page: our homeschool prom, our homeschool homecoming, and our father-daughter dance. For the full picture, see our guide to homeschool dances in North Carolina, or browse every event we have hosted in our past events gallery.

How we run our events

Built for parents to trust

Every NC Local Events dance is planned around one question: would a homeschool parent feel good sending their student here? That shapes everything we do.

Our formal events feature a professional DJ playing clean, radio-edit music, a modest dress code, and chaperones and security throughout the night. We hold a zero-tolerance line on alcohol, drugs, and misconduct, and we keep snacks, drinks, and photo booth moments part of the fun. The full rules are public on our policies page, so families know exactly what to expect before they buy a ticket.

What we believe

Faith-based by design

NC Local Events is a Christian organization, and our faith is the reason our events look the way they do. Clean music, a modest dress code, and a chaperoned, respectful atmosphere are not rules we bolt on top of the night. They are the night. We want students to have an unforgettable time and to be treated with dignity while they do.

At the same time, our dances are not a church service or a youth group. We are non-denominational, we keep the focus on the students and the celebration, and families of any background are welcome. If you want your student to enjoy a real prom or homecoming in a setting that reflects the values you are raising them with, that is exactly who we built this for.
