Homeschool Proms and Homecomings in the Piedmont Triad

Formal homeschool dances in the Winston-Salem area: prom each spring, homecoming each fall, and a father-daughter dance, for homeschool students and their families.

Does NC Local Events host homeschool proms in the Piedmont Triad?

Yes. The Piedmont Triad is NC Local Events' home market, and most of our dances happen here. We host a formal homeschool prom each spring, a homeschool homecoming each fall, and family-friendly events like our father-daughter dance, all built for homeschool students and their families in the Winston-Salem area.

Homeschool students do not have one school to host these milestone nights, so families build them together. We have run homeschool dances since 2022, the Triad has been home the whole way, and our recent events regularly sell more than 200 tickets, with several selling out smaller venues and moving to larger ones to fit everyone.

Where in the Triad we hold homeschool dances

NC Local Events holds Triad dances in Winston-Salem, Kernersville, and Greensboro, the three cities at the heart of the Piedmont Triad. They sit close together, so families from across the area travel in to whichever venue is hosting that season's dance, and a homeschool dance near you is usually a short drive away.

In Winston-Salem, we have held dances at The Ridge Event Venue and at Statler Heights. In Kernersville, we have danced at the Paul J. Ciener Botanical Garden. In Greensboro, we have hosted at Bryan Park Golf and Conference Center. Each event page lists the exact venue and city once the event is confirmed, and you can see the full history in our past events gallery.

What we believe

A Triad homeschool dance parents can trust

NC Local Events is a Christian, faith-based organization, and our values are the reason our Triad dances look the way they do. Clean, radio-edit music, a modest dress code at the formal events, and a chaperoned, respectful atmosphere are not rules we bolt on top of the night. They are the night. We want students to have an unforgettable time and to be treated with dignity while they do.

At the same time, our dances are not a church service or a youth group. We are non-denominational, we keep the focus on the students and the celebration, and families of any background are welcome. If you want your student to enjoy a real prom or homecoming in a setting that reflects the values you are raising them with, that is exactly who we built this for. You can read more in our guide to homeschool dances in North Carolina or about NC Local Events.

Why families come back

A homeschool dance the Triad keeps showing up for

NC Local Events started in the Triad in 2022, and we have hosted homeschool dances here ever since. Our origin prom, A Starry Night, drew more than 150 students and sold out, and the calendar has grown from there into proms, homecomings, and family dances across the Winston-Salem area.

Our recent events regularly sell more than 200 tickets, and several have sold out smaller venues and moved to larger ones to fit everyone who wanted to come. That is why we encourage Triad families to grab early-bird tickets when they go on sale. To see every dance we have hosted, browse our past events gallery.
